I heard this on NPR this afternoon, and it reminded me once again why I can’t stand politics and/or politicians.  We get it.  The Republicans don’t like the healthcare bill.  Fine.  Great.  Wonderful.  You want to use your time and effort in the legislature holding a symbolic vote to repeal the healthcare bill.  Okay.  Whatever.

What really irks me, is this:

The Kentucky senator is expected to tack a repeal amendment onto a massive Federal Aviation Administration budget reauthorization bill that the Senate began debating Tuesday afternoon.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think the Senators get to pick and choose which parts of the bills they want to vote yes and no on.  So what’s going to happen?  Does this FAA budget bill, which apparently would otherwise have enough support to pass and supposedly creates ‘280,000’ jobs just get screwed over?  Is this so the Republicans can come back later and claim the Democrats voted against a job creating FAA budget bill knowing most people will forget they attached repealing healthcare reform?  Is this so the Republicans can force Democratic senators to go on record as being either for or against the healthcare reform bill?   How is it even allowed to take two completely unrelated things and stick them together for one ‘yes’ or ‘no’ vote?   How is this different from Bozo the Clown asking little kids whether they walk to school or carry their lunch?

I hate politics.
