GOG.com is a wonderful website offering digital downloads of some classic computer games that your going to have a hard time finding anywhere. One prime example is the sale that they are running this weekend for the complete Gabriel Knight collection for less than $13.00. If you have any interest in compelling stories, flawed but lovable characters, and brain taxing puzzles you really need to treat yourself this weekend. If you have ever had any interest in the point-and-click adventure games of pc gaming past, then you owe it to yourself to own the pinnacle series of the genre. Do it. Buy them. Now.
Also, Steam, another digital download service, is giving the fantastic fps puzzle game Portal away for free until May 24th. There is really no excuse not to go get this one.

Now go get Portal for free. Seriously, it only takes about two hours to play through the main set of puzzles.

The song at the end (Still Alive) is absolutely amazing, though. It’s on youtube, if anyone’s curious.
There is no cake.
I just played through it again the other day. The Developer’s Commentary on there is pretty fascinating too.
